Why
choose MooreParrotAuctions.com?
The
current process for auctioneering parrots is about simplicity for the
auctioneer. They take your birds into a holding “bird area”. It’s hot or it’s
sometimes cold and it’s always humid, cramped and has ZERO psittacine
husbandry. For those of us around in the early 90’s, its trade craft borrowed
from smugglers, and this is simply not healthy or beneficial for your
hookbills. Housing arid region birds with hookbills of tropical origins is not
healthy for any of the animals. Large birds, lotted and parked next to small
birds, can create unnecessary stress on the animals. For most holding
facilities, feed is simply whatever is cheapest and in abundance.
Carlos
and his staff apply common sense while providing excellent care. Birds are
reared and raised in a super clean environment. Tropicals are housed together
and fed a measured amount of high protein feed. High quality air filters and a
controlled climate are in place. Simply knowing that birds that come from arid
regions have lots of feather dust that creates toxic polluted air for other
animals is only part of the battle. With other breeders and auction houses, all
the ‘lots’ are conveniently caged next to each other, stacked top over end as a
matter of utilizing space, rather than affording the best care. At Moore Parrot
Auctions we strive to provide the best facilities to get you the healthiest
animal possible.
Here
at Moore Parrot Auctions, arid region parrots are housed separately and fed an
abundant low protein maintenance grain, like they are used to. Other tropicals
and exotics are given the same types of consideration in their diet and
housing. Those animals from a rainforest region are used to the cleanest air,
while those from arid regions with lots of feathers aren’t necessarily
concerned with the quality of air because the Australian outback is endless in
space. However, once you cram a bunch of Australian birds with feather dust
into a small holding area where you have tropicals from the rainforest, then
lung infection for those birds becomes an issue. This is the part
where we apply common sense. We don’t just take a bird from the rainforest and
stuff them in a clamped closet for convenience sake. Birds that are used to
the purest air in the world would get all that dust feather from the cockatoos. This kind of practice results in sick birds that can and will just kill over
and die because of handling mistreatment.
It
is one thing to say, “we are experienced bird handlers” and in all ways that is
a true statement, but then so are smugglers. The difference is that it
takes experience and effort to employ psittacine husbandry that meets or
exceeds the need of the hookbill and exotics at auction. Our knowledge and care
create a healthy product, that both buyer and seller can appreciate. These are
only a few of the reasons why many consignors choose Moore Parrot Auctions. You
can feel comfortable choosing us because ‘your new bird’ was ‘once our bird’
and when you win your bid and receive your new animal you will be receiving the
best that we can provide.
