Our Mission

Our main mission with aviculture is to dispel the myths about owning and raising exotic birds, so that owners will have happier and healthier birds. Our aim is to provide insight and education about how to raise and live with exotic birds and impart knowledge and understanding to consumers. Hopefully, what this translates to is that breeders and rescuers will no longer be at odds with one another, enabling the pet loving community to understand how to care for birds better.

It is through lack of information that one can think a bird is happy, when in fact, they may not be. For instance, many people think birds like toys, where that may not be true. People can think birds like fruit. Again, this is not always the case. Cockatoos like the safety of high treetops and are granivores. They don't eat fruit, they eat seeds and they don’t play with toys.

Another worrisome myth that needs to be dispelled is the idea that their native habitats are safer than what an individual owner can provide. This notion has become nothing more than an urban legend. Deforestation, urbanization and population growth have all but wiped out their natural habitats. Birds, especially rare species, need private breeders to care for them as simply a way to perpetuate the existence of the species. Until technology can return nature to itself, and they can proliferate on their own, we will continue to strive to help sustain and nurture as many exotic birds and species as we can.

Come back often to check on the bidding of your next bird. We strive to bring you the very best offerings at public auction. All birds offered at auction are guaranteed alive and healthy - ready for delivery upon receipt of funds from your winning bid.

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
